How XclusionPro® RODENT-SHIELD® Blocks an Entry Route

XclusionPro® RODENT-SHIELD® is made from powder-coated, galvanized steel shaped to sit directly beneath the siding where mice and similar small wildlife may enter. It is engineered to fit snugly against the structure and attach to the foundation, sill plate, or sub-siding depending on how the property is built.

The low-profile barrier is a non-chemical mouse exclusion component. It addresses a defined exterior opening, but it doesn’t replace inspection or control work for mice that are already inside.

The rodent shield is designed to:

• Close accessible gaps beneath siding
• Limit access to wall voids through the treated area
• Fit the property’s foundation and siding configuration
• Reinforce a vulnerable section of the building envelope
• Provide a non-chemical prevention option

Our Mouse Control & Mouse Guard Process

The right response depends on the evidence found, the building’s construction, and whether mice are currently active indoors. We customize recommendations for single-family homes, commercial spaces, basements, crawlspaces, and other accessible areas rather than treating every property the same way.

Mouse Guard installation follows a structured exterior process:

• Full Exterior Inspection. Your technician evaluates the perimeter, including the foundation line, siding transitions, corner joints, and visible utility penetrations. Interior evidence may also help identify likely access routes and areas that require monitoring.
• Preparation and Foundation Cleaning. We clear debris and prepare the installation area so the barrier can sit flat and tight.
• Custom Fitting the Rodent Shield Barrier. The metal shield is slid beneath the siding and secured to the appropriate structural layer. Its placement is adapted to the conditions found along the building exterior.
• Integration With a Complete Prevention Plan. Mouse Guard is one component of Integrated Pest Management, an approach that combines inspection, prevention, monitoring, and targeted control. Recommendations may also address sanitation, harborage, other access points, and follow-up evaluation when needed.

Mouse Entry Points in Homes & Commercial Properties

Mice can use small openings around siding, foundation transitions, doors, windows, vents, and utility penetrations. House mice and white-footed mice may also reach wall cavities through gaps associated with crawlspace and basement access. An entry-point inspection helps determine whether Mouse Guard fits the suspected route or whether other parts of the building envelope also need attention.

Mouse Guard is designed for small rodents and similar small wildlife entering beneath siding. Chipmunks, voles, shrews, and small non-venomous snakes may use some of the same exterior openings, but barrier suitability depends on the animal’s location and the property’s construction. The inspection must also account for animals that may already be inside before exclusion work begins.

Commercial rodent control may require attention beyond the exterior barrier. Storage practices, receiving areas, waste handling, food exposure, and monitoring needs can all affect the recommendations for a business property.
